Pretoria based Werner Scholtz scored his first win
last year and is one of the championship favourites
even though he didn’t have a happy time in the
Chemical Logistics Mygale at Killarney.
David Veringa (Bravo Holdings Mygale)
is a former race winner who returned to the series
last year after a two-year layoff and went well at
Zwartkops last year.
Determined 20-year-old
Dean Hirschowitz (Nightsbridge Mygale) had a
stunning outing in round one where he was second
overall for the day and although he hasn’t done much
racing he is one of the most dedicated drivers
around at the moment. He learns fast, very fast.
Another young driver
to keep an eye on is 15-year-old James Temple in the
Tiger Wheel & Tyre Mygale. He came straight out of
karts at the end of last season and took a solid
third place at the final race of the year.
Another driver who
will be watched with great interest is former Group
N class champion Grant Wentzel (Ultimate Driving
experience.co.za/Team SportStar Van Diemen) who
makes his return to the sport after a decade away
from the track.
The likes of Gordon
Walker (Quality Living Space Van Diemen) and Richard
Bonneschen (Anglo Rand Van Diemen) are enthusiastic
competitors who get quicker with each race. |
