Masters
Set to Scorch Zwartkops Raceway
|
| |
The
Red Square Kawasaki ZX10R Masters Cup are set for an
action packed afternoon of racing as they descend on
the Zwartkops Raceway with new bikes, new colours
and new sponsors in RED SQUARE for Round 2 of the
Pro Tour. Look out for a full grid with more riders
coming into the championship on new machines and
this is sure to make for exciting racing on the
tight and twisty Zwartkops circuit.
The
championship leader Danie Maritz will have his hands
full trying to fend off Zwartkops specialist Gavin
Lightfoot who took a double win on the last outing
here. Both are on the latest machinery and we can
expect lap times to tumble as the optimum set ups
are found. Riders looking for the 3d step on the
podium will include the ever improving Pieter De Vos
as well as Delvin Pearce who has proven surprisingly
quick on his first season in the series. The action
for the top ten places will be a no quarters given
and no quarters asked for affair with Richard
Carmody, Joe Shearer, Jayson lamb, Royden Bennet and
Gilbert Parsons all vying for the coveted top ten
places. Making a very welcome return to the fray
will be our favourite “Dog Doctor” Stewie Christie
who will campaign the season in the Mailwise Racing
colours. |
| |
|
| |
New
riders to look for include East Londoner Chris Van
Vuuren and Kevin Whelan who make up a very strong
Eastern Cape contingent which includes the very
quick Jayson Lamb, veteran Pierre Le Roux and the
vastly improved Melt Koekemoer from Port Elizabeth. |

|
| |
The
action in class B with the red numbers will be no
less hectic with a number of riders returning to
action after enforced layoffs. The 2 men to beat
here will be Gilbert Parsons on the Emtek Machine
and Killarney winner Franceua Nell. Also returning
to action will be Trevor Elske who joins the
Mailwise Racing Team together with new boy Shaun
Westmorland. Others to look out for in Class B are
Andy Parsons on the other Emtek Machine, Christo Van
Staden and Pommie Laurence Carpenter on the “Flying
Union Jack” |

Remember to look for the different number colours,
black numbers denoting the junior 35 – 45 year old
pilots and the red numbers denoting the over 45 year
old veterans.
All
of which goes to make up another afternoon of high
speed thrills and spills. |
